Dr. Adam R. Cox

Dr. Adam Cox joined Family Eye Care Clinic in 2012. He provides comprehensive eye care in the clinical setting, as well as extending his services to meet the unique vision needs of many nursing home residents at numerous facilities. Dr. Cox maintains a license to practice therapeutic optometry in both Texas and Louisiana. He also specializes in treating Dry Eye and Ocular Surface Diseases. 

He received his Undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University. He then earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Cox worked at two externship sites including a private practice rotation in Greenville, TX and a public health practice in Houston, TX. Both sites provided Dr. Cox with extensive experience in ocular disease management including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. He finished his studies at the College of Optometry with specialty rotations in both Pediatric and Low Vision clinics.Upon graduation, Dr. Cox received the most outstanding clinician in primary care award for his clinical performance while at the University of Houston.

Dr. Cox is a member of numerous local and national professional associations including the East Texas Optometric Society, the Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry, the Sports Vision section of the American Optometric Association, and is an InfantSEE provider.

Dr. Cox continues to enjoy living in Atlanta and staying involved in both the community and his church. He currently serves on the Texas Optometric Association Board of Trustees and as a board member on the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce . He wants to not only provide vision care to the community but ensure its growth and prosperity in all areas. Dr. Cox enjoys the outdoors during his free time and any time he gets to spend with his wife Jennifer and their two sons Luke and James.
