Dr. Randal M. Cox

Dr. Randal M. Cox

Dr. Cox founded what is now known as Family Eye Care Clinic in Atlanta, Texas, in 1980.  Over the decades, he has become widely known throughout the medical community and among his patients for both his clinical expertise and his warm, gentle approach to patient care.

Dr. Cox earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston. He then continued his education at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa Honor fraternity.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cox has remained active in numberous professional organizations.  He is a member of the American Optometric Associate, the Texas Optometric Association, the East Texas Optometric Society, the American Optometric Foundation and the International Contact Lens Society.

Dr. Cox is also deeply involved in the Atlanta community.  He has served as both a member and past president of the Atlanta Lions Club, a past director of Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, and a volunteer with the United Way. He was also active with the Atlanta Baseball Association for many years and coached youth baseball for 14 years, investing in the lives of young people in the community.

While Dr. Cox provides care for patients of all ages, his practice has become particularly focused on geriatric patients, especially those aged 55 and over.  This focus has given him extensive experience in diagnosing and managing many age-related eye conditions, including Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Dry Eye Disease.

Outside the office, Dr. Cox enjoys hunting, fishing, reading, playing golf, and chasing after his 3 grandchildren.  He remains active in his church and in the Atlanta community.  Dr. Cox often says that Atlanta, Texas is the best place in the world to live--which is why he is proud to call it home with his wife, Rita.

Dr. Terry D. Foster

Dr. Foster joined Family Eye Care Clinic in 1994. He continues to provide specialized Vision and Ocular Health Care at Family Eye Care Clinic while growing not just relationships, but friendships with his patients.

He completed his Undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University where he was a member of the Alpha Chi academic honor fraternity. He then earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry where he was elected to membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity. Dr. Foster's formal education was completed by two internships in both corneal and retinal departments of the University of Texas Medical Center at Houston.

Dr. Foster is a member of regional, state, and national professional associations including the East Texas Optometric Society, the Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Foster stays active in the community with many activities and social functions. He also serves as a member of the Deacon Counsel at Atlanta First Baptist Church, active membership in the Atlanta Area Rotary Club Board of Directors and has served as past Rotarian President.

Dr. Foster is also an active member of the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and has former board service as well.

Dr. Foster has established his home in Atlanta, TX with his wife Melba and daughters Lauren and Natalie. He enjoys numerous family activities such as boating, fishing, snow skiing and martial arts.

Dr. Adam R. Cox

Dr. Adam R. Cox has been providing comprehensive optometric care at Family Eye Care Clinic in Atlanta, Texas since 2012.

He offers full-scope clinical eye care with extensive experience in ocular disease management, including the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. Dr. Cox also maintains an extensive contact lens practice, with a special focus on fitting complex and hard-to-fit patients including fitting scleral contact lenses.

Dr. Cox earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During his optometric training, he completed externship rotations in a private practice setting in Greenville, Texas, and in a public health clinic in Houston, where he gained significant experience in ocular disease management. He concluded his clinical training with specialty rotations in pediatric eye care and ocular disease.

Dr. Cox graduated with honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry and was recognized for his clinical excellence by receiving the Most Outstanding Clinician in Primary Care Award.

He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, the East Texas Optometric Society, and the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry. Dr. Cox is also a provider in the InfantSEE program, which offers comprehensive infant eye assessments.

Dr. Cox has served on the board of the Texas Optometric Association since 2018 and, in 2026, was elected President of the Texas Optometric Association.

In 2022, he was honored as the Texas Young Optometrist of the Year, a statewide recognition for outstanding leadership, service, and contributions to the profession of optometry.

A native of Atlanta, Texas, Dr. Cox graduated from Atlanta High School in 2004. He remains deeply committed to his hometown and the surrounding community. He previously served as President of the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce.  He has served on the Atlanta Education Foundation and the Atlanta Hospital Foundation, contributing to initiatives that strengthen healthcare services in the region.

Dr. Cox is also active in his church, where he has served in several leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board of the Executive Council. His dedication to both his profession and his community has earned him widespread respect locally and throughout the state.

Dr. Cox lives in Atlanta with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children, Luke, James, and Olivia. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Dr. Michael Cade

  • Therapeutic Optometrist

Born and raised in Paris,Texas •Dr. Cade attended Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) 2014-2018 for undergrad where he majored in biology with a minor in chemistry, while playing soccer for OBU. He Graduated Cum Laude in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He then attended UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio from 2020-2024, where he was elected into Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society and graduated Cum Laude.  Dr. Cade completed two private practice externships in Greenville and Longview, Texas, where he gained extensive experience in ocular disease management, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease.  He also completed an internship at optometry school, which included specialty rotations in pediatrics and ocular disease. 

Wife Alyssa Cade (graduated from Queen City in 2016) and Dr. Cade have a son named Grayson and a daughter named Sophie.  Dr. Cade enjoys watching and talking sports, spending time with family, and playing golf.  He is excited to establish his home in Atlanta, Texas and looks forward to providing exceptional care while also building lasting relationships with his patients and the community.
